One person has been confirmed dead, while several others are in critical condition following a head-on collision involving two commercial vehicles at Ejisu in the Ashanti Region.
The accident involved a Ford vehicle with registration number AW 3264-21 and a Toyota Hiace with registration number AS 3552-20. Eyewitnesses reported that the Toyota Hiace, which was travelling towards Kumasi, lost control at high speed and crashed into the Ford vehicle heading from Kumasi towards Ejisu.
The collision caused extensive damage to both vehicles, leaving many occupants with severe injuries. Among the injured were two senior high school students who were on their way to school at the time of the accident.
All injured passengers were rushed to Living Waters Hospital for medical attention, where one victim was pronounced dead on arrival.
An eyewitness, Michael Asante, described the scene as chaotic, noting that many passengers sustained serious injuries, including broken arms and legs, and that nearly all the seats in the vehicles were destroyed by the impact.
