The flagbearer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has said that there is no need in politicizing the one hot meal for the final year Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidate and the teachers.
A video that was seen on social media forcing the final year student to shout 4 more for Nana before they received the meal promised by the president.
In the video student who refused to say that was not given the food which was currently distributed.
Mr Mahama after seeing this video was shocked and surprised at how politics in the country had sunk so low.
In The 15 address of the President to the nation in the measure been put in place for the COVID-19, he made it known that the Junior High School final year student and their teachers both private and public schools were going to be given one hot meal every day.
“I have recently received reports that some final year JHS students are going hungry in complying with Covid-19 protocols. I have just instructed the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection to begin preparations to ensure that as of August 24 to September 18, all 584,000-final year JHS students and 146,000 staff both in public and private schools be given one hot meal a day”. The President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo said.
