Pupils, teachers and parents of Teacher Mante D/A JHS in the Ayensuano District of the Eastern Region expressed joy after the Executive Chairman of Opanyin Ayeh roofing systems, Opanyin Kofi Ayeh Ayeh responded swiftly to their call to re-roof their JHS classroom block serving a lot of pupils in the community.
Academic activities usually come to an end anytime there is a signs of heavy rains.
The destruction of the roof also affected several teaching and learning materials in the school.
An appeal was made to Opanyin Kofi Ayeh who quickly mobilized materials to respond to the needs of the school by completely re-roofing the classroom block.
Some parents who could not hide their excitement to Bryt FM underscored the impact of the assistance from Opanyin Kofi Ayeh.
The Manageress of Opanyin Ayeh Roofing systems, Mrs Dorcas Yeboah stated that they spent close to GH₵ 30,000 on the re-roofing of the building.
She said, Opanyin Kofi Ayeh and the technical director of the company, Master Opare Francis Adu were students who studied under the roofs of this existing building, so the situation, when presented before them, touched their heart as they cannot watch what brought them up to cause suffering to others.
“Opanyin Kofi Ayeh once came to a funeral and it rained so he came here for shelter, he was not happy with the heavy leakage on the roof he saw, he, therefore, took it to himself to help when the problems were brought before him” she added.
She, therefore, urged individuals to develop and adopt the passion towards developing their community in one way or the other for its betterment.
Mrs Dorcas Yeboah admonished the community to take very good care of the building and encouraged the pupils to take their academic work seriously.
” I want to urge the community to take very good care of the facility and also to encourage the students to learn hard in order to be responsible leaders tomorrow.”
She promised that they will always be available to assist them.
Chairman of Concern Citizens committee of Teacher Mante Apostle George Lartey told Bryt FM how the gesture has brought some relief to them.
”We are very excited and grateful to the Opanyin Kofi Ayeh. This gesture will forever remain in the minds of the people of Teacher Mante” he added.
The head teacher of the school, Mr Samuel Anim also recounted how academic activities were previously distracted.
