The Eastern Regional Hospital in Koforidua (ERHK) recorded a 15.6% decline in OPD attendance from January to June this year as a result of the Coronavirus Pandemic.
The total daily OPD attendance declined from 886 to 748 which cumulated to 71,663 during the period under review as compared to 84,669 the same period in 2019 and 77,076 in 2018.
However, overall admissions increased by 10.4% with daily admissions rise from 52 to 57.
This was made known by the Medical Director of the Hospital, Dr. Arko Akoto Ampaw during an encounter with the media in Koforidua.
He said the average length of stay of admitted patients at the hospital increased from four to five days.
