Francis Asenso-Boakye, the minister for Roads and Highways had the honour of delivering a statement on behalf of the government and people of Ghana at the 733rd National Day of the Swiss Confederation, celebrated in Accra at the residence of Her Excellency Simone Giger, the Ambassador of Switzerland.
In his remarks, he emphasized the strong and enduring relationship between Ghana and Switzerland.
“Our bilateral ties have not only fostered a deep friendship but have also significantly enhanced our economic cooperation. Trade between our two countries has experienced remarkable growth, with trade volumes increasing from $1.5 billion in 2019 to over $3 billion in 2023. It is especially gratifying to note that Ghana enjoys a favorable trade balance with Switzerland, underscoring the vital role of our economic partnership”.
“Looking to the future, we remain committed to further strengthening our collaboration, particularly in key sectors such as road construction, tourism, and technology development. Ghana places great value on its economic relations with Switzerland, and we are eager to build on this solid foundation to achieve even greater success together” he stated.
