Former Ghana international Mohammed Polo has entreated the next Technical Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to introduce a style of play for the various national teams.
A long-serving director, Oti Akenteng’s tenure expired last month following the decision by the new GFA administration not to renew his deal.
The football’s governing body (GFA) has since opened applications in search of a competent person for the vacant position.
Polo in an interview with Koforidua based Bryt FM affirmed that it is about time Ghana football gets its style of play as he believes that will help in enhancing the various national teams to flourish.
“I am a developer and everyone knows what I have done as a coach. In terms of player development, I am the best. I will urge the next GFA technical director to help our national teams with a style of play. I believe that is what we lack at the moment”
“The TD must make sure there is a direction and style of football because you can talk about Brazil, Italy and Spain who have Samba, Catenation and Tiki Taka as their style,” he told Bryt FM.
He added that they had a style when the Black Stars conquered Africa four times and are of the view that, Ghana can start winning trophies only if the TD comes out with a good philosophy.
