The Public Accounts Committee of Parliament today commenced its public hearing to consider the Auditor General’s report for the year ended 31st December,2024.
The Chairperson of the Public Accounts Committee(PAC), Hon. Abena Osei Asare in her opening remarks assured the General public that she will continue the good work of her predecessor, Hon. James Kwame Avedzi.
She reiterated that the committee hearing was not just a mere ritual but a vital national duty in ensuring that the public purse is protected.
Appearing before the Committee were the Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovation,
Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection and Ministry of Foreign Affairs among others were all cited by the 2024 Auditor-General Reports for various infractions. They were led by Hon. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey and Hon. James Gyekye Quayson.
