Accra, Ghana – President John Dramani Mahama, in his maiden State of the Nation Address, has assured Ghanaians of a faster and more efficient passport application process.
He announced that his government would ensure that passports are delivered to applicants within just a week of applying.
This initiative aims to eliminate long delays that have frustrated many Ghanaians, with some waiting months to receive their passports. President Mahama stressed that such inefficiencies must be addressed to improve service delivery and reduce bureaucratic bottlenecks.
To further enhance efficiency, the President revealed that the government would introduce its 24-hour economy policy at the passport office. This means that passport application and processing services will be available around the clock, allowing citizens to access these essential services at their convenience.
“No applicant should have to wait for months to get a passport,” President Mahama stated, emphasizing his administration’s commitment to streamlining public services.
These measures are expected to significantly improve Ghana’s passport issuance system, ensuring timely delivery and greater convenience for applicants. As the government rolls out this plan, Ghanaians eagerly await its implementation and the promised transformation in service delivery.
