The New Patriotic Party (NPP) will launch its online site from November 1 to 10, 2026. Members intending to contest the party’s parliamentary primaries ahead of the 2028 general elections can express their interest at a charge of GH¢5,000.
Justin Kodua Frimpong, the party’s general secretary, made the news on Thursday, October 29, 2026, during a press conference.
According to Mr. Kodua Frimpong, the party has implemented a new procedure for choosing its parliamentary candidates for the general elections in 2028. The process starts with potential candidates formally expressing their interest via the party’s website.
Interested members must use the portal, choose their favorite constituency, and submit an application together with a GH¢5,000 fee in accordance with the arrangement.
The initiative’s goal, according to the General Secretary, is to make sure that potential parliamentary candidates go through demanding training and capacity-building exercises in order to prepare them for the duties expected of NPP parliamentary candidates.
“This time around, the party has decided to come out with a new process in selecting our parliamentary candidates. In kick-starting our parliamentary selection processes, the party has introduced what we refer to as expressing or declaration of interest or intent by prospective parliamentary aspirants.
“What this simply means is that the party will, from 1st November to 10th November, open our portal for any interested person who wants to be nominated to stand on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party to declare his or her interest through our portal.
“The party is just asking you to declare your intention by going to our portal to apply. After you’ve made the application, it comes with a fee of GH¢5,000,” he said.
