The recent lay down of tools and duties by Teacher Unions across the country over government’s refusal to pay their legacy areas, have pushed students who are affected to plead to the government to help solve the issue as they remain victims.
To the stranded students, they are to write their end of term examination but teachers who are supposed to supervise the exercise are nowhere to be found.
Some students also lamented, the strike action will affect “most of us who are from low income families because, our parents cannot afford to pay for our private schooling”.
“We want the government to settle down with the teachers so they can get back to school, because we want to write our end of term exams”, they added.
However, some parents hinted, they will be forced to look for a private teachers to engage their children until teachers rescind their decision.
“I’m facing a big challenge because I can’t carry all my children along with me to the market as there is not enough space to contain them. Leaving them at home is also a different thing, a trader, Araba told the reporter.
Teachers from three unions across the country have since Monday refuse to go to the classroom to teach over a Legacy debt owned them some years ago.
