The home of Peace FM Eastern Regional Correspondent, Michael Akrofi, has been broken into by suspected thieves who made away with some valuable household electronic items.
The burglary incident occurred Wednesday afternoon when the Journo and his family were away from the house.
“They took away two plasma television sets, my wife’s laptop, kid’s tablet, and some undisclosed amount of cash and other valuables”. He told Bryt FM.
The burglars entered the room through the ceiling.
This is the third time, within a spate of three years; thieves have broken into the room of the Journalist despite relocating to different houses after each incident.
It is not clear why the Journalist has become a target.
The incident has been reported at Koforidua-Effiduase Police Station which investigators have visited the crime scene.
Residents living around Koforidua – KOTEC Area where the incident happened, have incessantly been complaining about insecurity in the area. Many homes have been burgled and robbed in broad daylight and at night.
Residents are therefore calling on Police to consistently patrol the area particularly during day time when most have left to work.
