The Central Regional Coordinating Council has handed over the site to the Contractor for the extensive renovation of Philip Quaque Boys and Girls School.
This project is in fulfillment of President, H.E Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo’s, promise to the people of Cape Coast during last year’s Independence Day Anniversary Celebration in Cape Coast.
Undoubtedly, the history of formal education in West Africa cannot be written without making reference to Philip Quaque Boys School, as it is the first formal school in the then Gold Coast and the West African sub-region.
Unfortunately, the school’s structure has developed serious cracks which does not fit its status.
This extensive renovation will restore the age-old glory of the school as the first school in West Africa with state-of-the-art facilities.
