Telecommunication giant, MTN Ghana has today, January 8, 2020, awarded its mobile money agents and merchants as part of the 10th-anniversary celebration of the mobile money service in Koforidua of the Eastern Region.
At the Regional Momo agents and merchant’s awards, 50 agents and merchants walked away with amazing goodies ranging from Samsung Television sets, Mobile Phones, Moto bicycles, and agent kiosks.
Nationally, about 400 people have been rewarded with amazing prizes which include, Greater Accra, Eastern and Volta Region.
Speaking at the 2020 Momo agent and merchant’s awards at the forecourt of MTN in Koforidua, Senior Manager for General Trade (South Eastern Ghana), Peter Kofi Bempeh said, the key concern on their part is to show appreciation with regards to the contributions made so far by Ghanaians.
He said, the Momo service has been a long journey with ups and downs but believes effort have brought them where they are now.
He affirmed the awards are to recognize the hard work of their agents and merchants and also motivate them to continue with their good work for the betterment of the MTN Momo service.
According to him, MoMo is transforming the Ghanaian economy and responding to emergencies and for that matter, entreating Ghanaians to continue patronizing the Momo service.
He, however, called on agents to desist from third party transactions to avoid the number of fraud situations associated with MoMo.
“Don’t entertain calls regarding your wallets and also your PIN is your secret, so don’t walk to an agent point to assist you while doing a cash-out. I will urge Ghanaians to be vigilant with regards to mobile money fraud” he said.
He said, the MTN Momo is a good service and is thankful to every Ghanaians for partnering with them for all these years, saying that effort is being made in their bid to ensure that fraudulent issues are dealt with.
