The schools in Tease Community in Afram Plains South District were thrown into a state of grieve as school children mourn their departed colleague, Gyagadu Moses Dickson, 9, who met his untimely death whilst in School on Wednesday, March 4, 2020.
School children marched to the home of the late Gyagadu to pay their last respect to him before his burial.
The school children burst into tears whilst mourners cried uncontrollably.
The unripe mango fruit which the deceased was plugging leading to his death was placed on him in the coffin for burial.
The class four (4) pupil of Tease D/A Primary School in Afram Plains South of the Eastern region died after falling out of a mango tree he climbed to plug its fruit whilst in school.
The incident occurred Wednesday, March 4, 2020, at about 2:50pm when teachers were supervising rehearsals at the school’s park ahead of the 6 March parade.
The Head teacher of the School, Sule Abubakari said when the incident occurred, friend to the deceased who was with him left him in an unconscious condition and rushed home to inform the grandmother instead of the school authorities but later Teachers got wind of the incident through another pupil who saw the deceased motionless hence raised alarm.
The head teacher said, the deceased was quickly rushed to Tease Health center on a motorbike by one of the teachers but his condition deteriorated and was referred to Donkokrom Presbyterian Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Meanwhile, the grandmother of the deceased child, Ama Asiedua, Suffered a fractured on the left leg the same day after a tricycle crashed her whilst rushing to the incident scene to see the deceased.
He has been treated and discharged home but unable to walk.
