The Motor Transport and Traffic Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service has commenced an investigation into the horrible multiple vehicle accident which occurred at Nsawam in the Eastern Region.
The accident vehicles involved a school bus with 10 children. But no injury or casualty was recorded.
The accident occurred when an articulated truck with registration number GT 9730-13 loaded with cement from Tema to Nsawam failed brake upon reaching Nsawam Adoagyiri Municipal Assembly junction and the Nsawam Government Hospital junction stretch of the road at 8:00 am on Thursday, February 11, 2021.
The articulated truck rammed into three (3) vehicles -a taxi cab, a 4×4 with registration number GR 7280 – 11, and a school bus with registration number GE 2989-12 carrying about ten (10) school children.
There was no casualty but all of the children including the occupants of the other vehicles were sent to the Nsawam Government Hospital for check-ups especially the children who were seriously traumatized.
Officials from the Police MTTD, National Disaster Management Organization visited the scene to rescue the victims and direct traffic.
The accident vehicles have since been towed.
