A group of policemen has arrived at the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) ahead of the student’s petition to the school.
This is about the communiqué released on 23rd March 2021 by the Management of the institute which directs all students who couldn’t pay their fees before the deadline to defer the academic year.
The students have gathered in front of the school today to write their petition to the management and also enquire their reason for such a decision when the examination is approaching.
The atmosphere at GIJ is quite tense at the moment as students have been denied access to the school.
The Policemen at the scene are steadily guarding the front gate of the institution to deter students from entering.
According to the students, the presence of the Policemen will not intimidate them to leave without hearing from the management.
“Their presence is not going to shake us because we are not here to demonstrate we are only asking to be heard”, one of the leading members of the petition said.
