A Lecturer at the Pentecost University who is also District Pastor for Adenta Church Of Pentecost in the Greater Accra Region, Pastor Emmanuel Oppong Donkor has said most Political Policies and Messages are not getting to the right people because of Language Use to disseminate and Communicate it, especially in campaign period to solicit for Vote.
According to him, about 5.7billion People out of over 8 billion on the Earth understands Oral Communication faster than Written, adding, about 65 per cent of Ghanaians cannot read and write but they understand oral Language and remembers it for long period.
Speaking at Aburi in the Eastern Region during the launch of Akwapim Twi Old Testament Audio Bible which is an initiative by a Nonprofit Christian Organization, Theovision International, Pastor Oppong Donkor said It Is Time for the Country Leaders to Translate Key Policies and programs documents into Audio for those who cannot read to understand.
The Lecturer said some people do not need Political Party Manifesto documents rather, they want to hear orally from the Candidate whilst others vote due to their loyalty and affiliation to the Party.
He noted that Some English Speaking Radio Stations could not survive in Ghana due to the introduction of English for their programmes and stressed on the need for media houses to consider their target listeners and area they operate and use native language.
