Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye (Moderator Elect). He is currently the Presbytery Chairperson of the Rainbow 🌈 Presbytery (GA Presbytery). He holds a PhD in Church History and lectures at the University of Ghana.
At the Nomination Stage:
- Rev. Dr. Opare Kwakye had 119 votes (52%)
- Rev. Dr. Seth Kissi 54 votes (23.6%)
- Rev. Dr. Opuni Frimpong 22 vote (9.6%)
They 2nd and 3rd candidates per their deep understanding of the Presbyterian Principals stepped down making Rev. Dr. Opare Kwakye the only candidates for a Yes or No where he obtained a 97% “YES” with 220 votes out of the 2026 voters …
Therefore, the 23rd GeneralAssembly, has elected, the Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye as the 19th Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana.
He begins work on December 1st, 2023.
