Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare-Kwakye, the Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, has called on the Electoral Commission of Ghana to ensure fairness in all electoral processes ahead of the 2024 general elections.
Speaking to Journalists at the sidelines of the Presbyterian University Ghana (PUG) School of Graduate Studies’ 6th Congregation Ceremony at the Ramseyer Training Centre, Rev. Dr. Opare-Kwakye emphasized the importance of the upcoming elections in Ghana’s political history.
He urged the Electoral Commission to be accountable to Ghanaians and all political parties, stressing the need for a transparent and peaceful election.
Rev. Dr. Opare-Kwakye also advised political parties to be cautious with their language to maintain the country’s peace.
He warned voters against being swayed by monetary inducements from politicians, urging them to let their conscience guide them in electing capable leaders for the country.
In a related development, the Vice Chancellor of Presbyterian University Ghana, Prof. John Ofosu-Anim, announced the university’s plans to establish a world-class Artificial Intelligence Centre with a Cyber Security Department.
This initiative aims to train students to combat cybercrime in Ghana and across Africa.
