The Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana Rt. Rev. Prof. Joseph Obiri Mante has called on the government to put in place policies that will protect local Agric production.
He said continuous importation of food items like frozen chicken, rice, tomato paste, and others are having a serious impact on local production of the same product.
He called on the government to extend tax exemption and other privileges to the local companies by making the necessary amendments to support the local enterprises to produce world-class goods in Ghana.
The Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana applauded the government for the various initiatives taken in the Agriculture sector which include greenhouse technology, attempts of mechanizing agriculture, planting for food and jobs, planting for export, and rural development, saying these initiatives will expand the rural economy.
He said the modest achievement of the 1D1F program is praiseworthy
