The President of the Republic of Ghana H.E John Dramani Mahama has assured chiefs and people of the Eastern region of his government’s unwavering commitment to deliver on manifesto promises.
According to the President, the people of Eastern region gave him massive endorsement in the 2024 general election which is a manifestation of the confidence in his leadership.
The President reiterated that strategic infrastructure projects including construction of a Bridge over river Afram in Afram Plains will be carried out under the “Big Push” development initiative .

He also assured the completion of Koforidua Bunso -Apedwa dualization, finalization of Osino -Engresi -Anyinam bypass project, the Eastern Regional Hospital and other stalled projects in the region.
President John Mahama further hinted of plans to expand Eastern Regional Water Supply to serve additional one million people.
On behalf of the Eastern Regional House of Chiefs , the President of the Eastern Regional House of Chiefs and double as the Paramount Chief of Manya Krobo Nene Sakite II appealed to the President to take a renewed look at the potential of the chieftaincy institution and support it accordingly since it has over the years remain a critical pillar of national identity, unity and governance.
“Mr. President, this tenure presents you with a historic opportunity to deepen your legacy. The first 120 days of your administration have been promising and signal a good start. But as the saying goes, “good is not good enough where better is possible.” Your leadership must now build on this momentum to bring sustainable development, hope, and prosperity to all Ghanaians” Said Nene Sakite II.
He additionally urged the government to continue and complete stalled projects under the previous administration including road infrastructure in the Eastern region.
” while we understand that it may be too early to present a long list of requests, we must nonetheless draw attention to a few pressing issues confronting our region. The state of infrastructure-particularly roads, health facilities, and educational institutions-continues to affect the quality of life of our people. In Kroboland, for instance, the road network is in an especially deplorable state. We trust that your administration will prioritize these needs”.
Finally, the Paramount Chief of New Juaben Traditional Area Daasebre Nana Kwaku Boateng III commended the President for his good leadership for the stabilization of the exchange rate which has brought relief to many businesses as well as building confidence in the economy.

Daasebre Nana Kwaku Boateng III also applauded the President for the introduction of “No Stress Fee” policy to assist all first year students of their tertiary education.
He however appealed to the President to construct Koforidua Central Market ,and restore New Juaben lands to the traditional council.
Eastern Regional Minister assured to advance the reset Agenda to improve the living standards of the people of the region.
