The National Education Forum Planning Committee has scheduled the launch of the National Education Forum for Tuesday, February 18, 2025, in Ho, Volta Region.
Chairman Professor K. T. Oduro announced the theme, “Transforming Education for a Sustainable Future,” citing five key pillars: infrastructure, quality, regulation, accountability and governance, financing, and research and data. The launch will be led by President John Dramani Mahama and followed by a consultative dialogue from February 19-21, expanding to selected zones across the country.
A validation conference will take place on February 27-28 at the University of Professional Studies, Accra, with the final report due to the Minister of Education by March 21, 2025. Professor Oduro stated the forum aims to address education system challenges and enhance quality education for future generations.
The expected outcomes include a consensus document summarizing stakeholder recommendations, a thematic action plan for reforms, and a framework for a national education policy. This initiative is part of the NDC’s commitment to revamp Ghana’s education sector.
