Comic Ghanaian actor, Kwadwo Nkansah, famed as ‘Lil Win’ has said that the investment made by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will make a huge difference in the movie industry.
To him, the investment has come at the right time when all film stakeholders are striving hard to restore the file industry.
He added that movies contribute to the happiness of the people as well as promoting our arts and culture hence they support the aim by the government.
Lil Win also urged all stakeholders who are going to be in charge of the project not to be biased but rather they should support the president’s dream of making the industry vibrant and competitive.
“Lack of finance have prevented the local filmmakers capabilities of generating storylines to compete for the international film market,” Lil Win said in an interview with GNA.
Meanwhile, President Akufo-Addo has launched a Pitch Series under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture (coordinated by the National Film Authority) to create a vibrant and competitive film industry and make Ghana a film and tourism hub.
President Akufo-Addo invested $25 million in Ghana’s film industry.
