The Greater Accra Regional Fire Command (GARFC) of the Ghana National Fire Service has launched its Fire Safety Week at the conference room of the Regional Headquarters dubbed “Sustaining National Development Through Fire Safety”.
Fire Safety Week is celebrated annually by the GARFC with the aim of concertizing the public on the need to adhere to fire safety protocols and regulations.
The week’s programs slated for this year’s event target major market centres and public places within the Greater Accra Region and will see Safety Officers undertake fire safety education, training and inspections amidst a bit of fanfare from 6th – 9th December 2022.
In attendance at the launch were Dr Opoku Ware Ampomah, CEO of Korle Bu Hospital; DCFO Kwame Kwarteng (retired), Guest speaker; DCFO Richard Gibril Nuhu, GARFC Fire Officer; ACFOI Doris Lamptey, Tema Regional Fire Officer; ACFOII John Wiafe, Assistant Director of Fire Safety who represented the Director Fire Safety on the day as well other stakeholders and media houses.
