A team of 5 senior officers and 55 other ranks from the Sunyani Central Prison have completed a 1-month Training session in weapon handling techniques at the 3 Infantry Battalion in Sunyani.
The team was led by the Bono Regional Operations Commander ASP. Yahya Yakubu from the Sunyani Central Prison.
The training, which was under the command of Lt. Col. John Yaw Kwarteng, the Commanding Officer of the 3Infantry Battalion (3BN) in Sunyani, took participants through fitness and endurance training, obstacle crossing training, and skills at arms.
Participants sat for three progressive tests before the training concluded.
Certificates were awarded to all participants for completing the training.
The training is critical to ensuring safety in prisons and the prevention of jailbreaks.
