Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, The Vice-Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), wrapped up a successful official campaign tour of the Ashanti Region on Wednesday 21st October 2020.
According to her campaign team, she had a fruitful interaction with traditional leaders starting with HRM Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, followed by Nana Agyen Frimpong Ababio, Odurowura Adu Panin I, Nana Serwaa Buruwaa, Nana Serwaa Amponsah, Alhaji Mohammed Alhassan, Torgbui Akpadiri, and Nana Serwaa Amponsah. She also met youth groups, associations of various professionals, women’s groups, religious organizations, and citizens of several communities in the Asawase, New Edubiase, Fomena, Afigya Kwabre South, Suame, Obuasi West, Akrofuom, Ahafo Ano and Ejura Sekye-Dumase constituencies among many that she visited.
She was supported by the National Chairman – Hon. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo and the Deputy General Secretary- Barbara Serwaa Asamoah.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang articulated the NDC’s response to the many challenging realities of the stakeholders she interacted with as outlined in the People’s Manifesto. She recalled the outstanding track record of the NDC in delivering on its commitments to ensure jobs and prosperity for all. Professor Opoku-Agyemang’s submissions were received with excitement and enthusiasm from large numbers of people across the region.
Several respected party members from the region joined the Vice Presidential candidate’s activities over the 6 days. They included Augustus Andrews Nana Kwesi: Regional Chairman, Alhaji Salisu; Vice Chairman, Anthony Kwame Zu; Regional Secretary, Dr. Samuel Sarpong; Former Ashanti Regional Minister, Andy Okrah; Former Deputy Minister Ashanti Region, Ken Agyei; Former Deputy Minister Of Defence, Kwaku Boahen; Deputy National Communication, Betty Mould Iddrisu; Former Attorney General and Alex Mould, Former MD of GNPC.
