The Deputy Minister of Information Pius Enam Hadzide has challenged the running mate of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang to speak out on the tribalistic conduct of her boss John Dramani Mahama if she is indeed a peace-loving woman.
The NDC flagbearer John Mahama’s sharing of an article by Bolga Central MP Isaac Adongo on Facebook in which he labeled some individuals in government connected to the controversial “Agayapa deal” as ‘Sakawa-Akyem boys’ has sparked uproar among members of the ruling New Patriotic Party and other groups.
President Akufo-Addo in response to the labeling complained to Catholic Bishops at a meeting at the Jubilee House to condemn the former President.
The president said: “It is completely unacceptable. If I were to get up to make comments about Northerners or Gonjas, you can imagine the uproar that would be in the country.” A comment the opposition also referred to as tribalistic against Northerner
Speaking on Dadi 101.1 FM morning show dubbed “Efa Wo Ho” hosted by Abena Opokua Ahwenepa, the Deputy Minister of Information Pius Enam Hadzide said “They say Women are compassionate and peace-loving, therefore, we are expecting Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang running mate to John Dramani Mahama to speak on this tribal act of her boss. If she fails then it means she doesn’t have that trait of the compassionate and peace-loving mother as touted about her. It would mean she doesn’t understand motherhood.”
The Deputy Minister called on all Ghanaians to condemn the former President since tribalism threatens the unity and peace of the country.
