President Akufo-Addo has been advised to consider honouring invitations outside the country as a way of protecting the public purse.
Adhering to the call will help the country save a lot of monies spent on foreign travels, according to the North Tongu Member of Parliament.
Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa made the call to the President on Friday on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana political show.
He insisted most of the invitations does not come with any goodies and must not be honoured.
The outspoken MP has over the years been chastising presidential travels of the President outside the country, and the cost that accompany it that could be used for other pressing issues confronting the country.
“Most African leaders have decided not to honour most foreign invitations which would have any positive impact on their economies and I think it is time for our President to do same” Mr. Okudzeto Ablakwa stated.
