The Member of Parliament for Pru East, Hon. Emmanuel Kwaku Boam, has expressed deep concern over the security situation in the country, particularly in his constituency.
Speaking to the media, Hon. Boam lamented a recent armed robbery attack on travelers that resulted in the death of a businessman, Suraj, which has become a burden for the people of Pru East.
However, he welcomed the Minister of Interior’s promise to deploy 50 trained policemen on the highways in Pru East to prevent future attacks.
The MP urged the people of his constituency to be patient, as measures are being put in place to address the situation.
He also appealed to them not to demonstrate, despite some drivers and traders having planned to do so in response to the incident.
Hon. Boam acknowledged that he was devastated and unhappy upon hearing about the killing of the businessman, but he is working to ensure that the situation is resolved.
He further announced that vehicle have been assigned for highway patrol, and a Joint Security team Comprising Military And Police personnel will be established.
The minister expressed satisfaction with the tightening of security on Ghana’s Highways.
He also took the Opportunity to reassure his Costituents About the measures being put in place to enhance their safety.
