In the spirit of compassion and empowerment, the Re-Shade Foundation, a dedicated non-governmental organization (NGO), has extended vital support to Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) across the New Juaben North and South Municipalities of the Eastern Region.
Inspired by the words of Lebanese-American businessman Nido Qubein — “your present circumstances don’t determine where you can go; they merely determine where you start” — the Foundation has taken meaningful steps to transform the lives of individuals with disabilities by offering them hope, dignity, and a pathway to greater independence.
The Foundation’s recent initiative, the Empowerment Program for Persons with Disabilities, was a multifaceted event held at Koforidua Jackson Park. It brought together PWDs from surrounding communities for a day filled with support, unity, and celebration. The program included skills training sessions, recreational activities, and the distribution of essential items such as wheelchairs, bags of rice, cooking oil, and various relief supplies.
According to Flipper Amankwah, Chief Executive Officer of the Re-Shade Foundation, the initiative is rooted in a strong desire to give back to society and ensure that no one, regardless of ability, is left behind.
“This program was designed not only to meet immediate needs but also to build a stronger sense of community among persons with disabilities,” Amankwah shared in an interview with Nhyiraba Solomon Nartey of Bryt FM. “We want to create spaces where individuals feel valued, included, and supported to pursue better lives.”
The event also featured interactive games and social engagement activities, giving participants an opportunity to unwind, connect with others, and enjoy a rare day of shared joy and inclusion. For many, it was more than just a day of receiving aid—it was a moment of recognition and belonging.
Flipper Amankwah expressed heartfelt appreciation to all donors and partners who made the event possible, emphasizing that their generosity has made a lasting impact on the lives of the beneficiaries.

The recipients of the support did not hold back their emotions, with many expressing deep gratitude to the Re-Shade Foundation. For them, the gesture represented more than material assistance—it was a message that they are seen, heard, and cared for.
“I feel so happy and thankful,” said one beneficiary. “Today, I felt like I mattered.”
With programs like this, the Re-Shade Foundation continues to demonstrate a powerful commitment to inclusivity and social responsibility, paving the way for a more equitable society—one where every individual, regardless of ability, has the opportunity to thrive.
