The Deputy Minister, Hon. Abdulai Abanga (MP) on Tuesday joined the Ghana Real Estate Developers Association (GREDA) at their Annual CEOs Breakfast Meeting at the Swiss Spirit Alisa Hotel.
Speaking on the theme “Overcoming the turbulence in the current financial crisis – the impact on the Real Estate Industry, ” the Deputy Minister implored the Real Estate Professionals to patronise the use of local building materials in order to cut down construction costs.
Given this, the Deputy Minister indicated that Government through the Ministry, is empowering its Agency, the Department of Rural Housing, to devise innovative ways through which local building materials can be leveraged to reduce the cost of materials and cost of construction.
Hon. Abanga cited the reconstruction of the Apiatse community, which is being executed with local building materials as a strategy to advocate for the use of relatively cheaper yet safe and durable local materials.
