Francis Asenso Boakye, minister for Works and Housing has launched the “Real Estate Experience – Housing Fair”, a housing exhibition organized by the Graphic Communications Group and the Ghana Real Estate Developers Association (GREDA).
It was under the theme; “Home Ownership through Collaborative Efforts of Individuals, Institutions and Industry”.
The minister highlighted the Real Estate Agency Act 2000 (Act 1047), which has birthed the Real Estate Agency Council, an entity mandated to regulate real estate agency practice, and commercial transactions in real estate including the sale, purchase, rental and leasing of real estate.
The Council, when fully operationalised will ensure a regulatory scheme for all players in the sector including brokers, agents, developers, marketers and managers of real estate.
This will promote the harmonisation of standards within the housing market.
