Paul Adom-Otchere, the former Chairman of the Ghana Airports Company Board, has filed a lawsuit against the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) over a directive that mandates him to declare his properties and income.
The lawsuit, filed at the High Court in Accra (Case No. GJ/0068/2026), challenges the legality of the OSP’s order, which was issued on August 4, 2025. Adom-Otchere argues that the directive is unlawful and constitutes an abuse of power by the Special Prosecutor.
In his legal action, Adom-Otchere is seeking judicial review, requesting the court to nullify the directive on the grounds that it contravenes the Office of the Special Prosecutor Act, 2017 (Act 959) and its regulations. He further asserts that the OSP’s threats of legal consequences, including property confiscation and detention, amount to harassment and violate his fundamental rights.
Adom-Otchere is also seeking an order to prevent the OSP from detaining him or imposing any restrictions on his personal freedom.
Additionally, the former board chairman is demanding general damages and compensation for legal costs, including attorney fees. His legal team argues that the OSP’s actions were illegal, arbitrary, unreasonable, and unfair.
The case is being represented by the law firm Dame & Partners, with lawyers Yaw Boampong and Adu Brempong acting on behalf of Adom-Otchere.
The High Court is set to schedule a hearing to examine the legality of the Special Prosecutor’s directive.
