First lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo received book donations on behalf of The Rebecca Foundation from Spelling Bee-Gh, organisers of the spelling bee competition.
This is part of a partnership the First lady proposed during last year’s final event.
She indicated that as a passionate advocate of children’s literacy and education, it is evident to her that participants of the Spelling Bee competition are some of Ghana’s most well-read.
“I’m confident that there are hundreds more children all around the country who will equally shine if given such opportunities”.
“These books will be kept in the Rebecca foundation’s libraries around the country, and I hope that they help improve reading habits among students” she stressed.
