The Sefwi Bekwai Branch of Ghana Private Road And Transport Union(GPRTU), has held its internal elections to elect new members to steer the affairs of the day to day administration of the organization.
Out of 191 registered members, 181 showered up to vote for the various positions.The elections were successfully conducted which in their history has been one of the best.
In an interview with the media, the Western North Regional Chairman for GPRTU, Mr. Francis Ekow, reiterates that Sefwi Bekwai GPRTU branch has extremely done well in terms of administrative work and infrastructural development and hence needs to be applauded and urged the newly elected officers to continue the good works of their past officers done to redeem the image of the organisation.
He advised that seems of flash floods are likely to occured especially in the Western North and some other centres across the country during the month of April to June period, so road users especially drivers should be mindful when plying the roads and also advised drivers to refrain from driving through flood waters.
Mr. Francis Ekow made these remarks when swearing in the new officers to take over from the past officers after the successful election held.
The newly elected chairman for Sefwi Bekwai GPRTU branch, Mr. Kwabena Ebo( Big Ebo), stated that, he will unite and work with all members and also welcome any fresh ideas to help move Sefwi Bekwai branch of GPRTU forward.
He added that promises made during his campaign will be fortified and make sure that the MTTD and DVLA sensitisation to drivers gain more attraction to enhance access to road traffic regulations will be ensured to reduce road accidents.
