The Minority in Parliament has asked former government appointees to decline any invites from the Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL) committee, arguing its formation was unlawful.
The Minority caucus, led by John Darko, the Member of Parliament for Suame, said that the establishment of ORAL was unlawful, claiming that there were already constitutionally mandated organizations in place to look into claims of misconduct.
John Darko emphasized that former government officials will not participate in ORAL operations in any way.
“No serious country will entertain anything like this. So, if you are a former government official and receive an invitation from this so-called ORAL, the Minority’s advice is to boycott it,” he said.
“We will not participate because we believe constitutionally mandated bodies are equipped to investigate any alleged mistakes of the government.”
Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Member of Parliament for North Tongu, serves as the chair of ORAL.
It was created to retrieve state assets that had been looted on December 18, 2024.
