Former Hearts of Oak defender Dan Quaye has called for the inclusion of experienced players in the senior national soccer team, the Black Stars.
The former Ghana international is concerned about the dwindling fortunes of the national team.
The four-time African champions endured a very tough October international break, losing all two games and conceding 6 goals in the process.
Ghana succumbed to a 2-0 defeat to Mexico at the Bank of America Stadium last Saturday before their heavy defeat against The Yanks of USA at the Geodis Stadium on Wednesday.
Speaking to Koforidua-based Bryt FM, the former defender asserted it is about time Chris Hughton’s led technical handlers restore some experienced players in the Black Stars.
“It’s about time we reinstate some of the experienced players in the Black Stars” he said.
Meanwhile, Dan Quaye has attributed Inaki Williams struggles with the national team to the midfielders while he claims Mubarak Wakaso can help the Athletic Bilbao forward to find his scoring boots.
“Inaki Williams has struggled to score for the national team since switching allegiance because of our midfielders”
“I believe Mubarak Wakaso, who is able to deliver long balls to attackers can help him resolve goalscoring woes with the Black Stars. Wakaso always make sure he feeds strikers with the balls and he has the experience too for the long balls just like Sulley Muntari. We are the Brazil of Africa and we must respect that” he said.
Despite his troubles at the Black Stars, Inaki Williams is having a good start to the 2023/24 Spanish La Liga season where he has scored four goals and managed two assists in nine games.
