The Ministry of Energy continues to deepen efforts in the renewable energy area within the context of our target of scaling up renewable energy penetration in Ghana by 10% by 2030. This brings key opportunities for strategic investor partnership.
Pursuant to these efforts, the sector minister, Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh is currently leading an energy sector delegation at the 13th Session of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) Assembly in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
The platform brings together Heads of State, Ministers and energy decision-makers among its Membership and States-in-Accession, as well as multilateral organizations, global stakeholders and private sector players.
According to the minister, his outfit is seeking to draw the needed attention to the investment opportunities in our renewable energy space through strategic engagements at the conference and on its
margins.
The Ghanaian delegation will also participate in the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2023, where the President of the Republic, His Excellency, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is expected to deliver a statement relating to energy, technology and climate change.
“I remain optimistic that, our engagements here in Abu Dhabi will yield the needed results” the minister stated.
