James Kwabena Bomfeh, often known as “Kabila” former acting general secretary of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), has vociferously urged President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to reshuffle his ministers.
Concerns about the size of the ministerial appointees have resurfaced in light of the current economic challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the Ukraine/Russia war, as well as the long leave of absence taken by Sarah Adwoa Safo, the Member of Parliament for Dome/Kwabenya and Minister of Gender, Children, and Social Protection.
Speaking on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” show, Kabila emphasized that if the President heeds their pleas, he will be making a strong message.
“Some of the proofs that would show us that indeed you know we are suffering is when you reduce the size of your ministerial appointees . . . it’s a positive statement. In fact, it’s a powerful statement that no one can argue with,” he said.
There are constant requests for President Nana Akufo-Addo to rearrange his cabinet, but so far nothing has been done.
