The Assembly Man for Coaltar, Hon. Emmanuel Nartey has pleaded for the government’s support in constructing a good road for the residents in Ayensua.
According to him, the Ayensua road is in very bad shape and should be attended to immediately.
“The road is so bad that even motors (Okada) can’t use the road, it has resulted in lots of accidents on the road because of its poor condition”, he added.
He revealed that the former Member of Parliament for the constituency began construction on the road during the election year; however, the contractor who was supposed to fix the road disappeared after the elections.
“Some of the roads that were constructed too couldn’t stand for even three months, the roads are in a bad shape again”, he said.
The District Chief Executive for the constituency, Hon. Josephine Awuku Ansah, speaking in an interview with Abena Pokuaa Ahwenee on the issue admitted that the road is indeed in a deplorable shape.
She assured me that, since she just began her term of office she will treat the issue as a matter of urgency.
“I just started my work and I know the President is going to support me to fix the roads”, she added.
She also solicited for help, that anyone who wants to donate to support the fixing of the road should do so because the government cannot do everything for us.
“If you also want to help financially to support us so we can begin fixing the roads then please reach out and donate because we can’t leave everything in the government’s hands”, she pleaded.
