The National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) has launched its 2020 road safety campaign at Kintampo in the Bono East dubbed: “Arrive-Alive or Kodru Dwo Dwoo”.
The safety Campaign forms part of efforts towards curbing road accidents ahead of the December polls and the festive season.
Speaking at the launch of the event, the Regional Coordinating Director Mr. George Padmore Mensah said the hike in road crashes on the Kintampo highway over the years has turned the road into a “slaughterhouse” claiming the lives of many.
He cautioned drivers “who have turned their motor vehicles into a weapon of mass destruction to reimagine a world without accidents and every road user will be free from traffic accident”.
In his speech, the Regional Road Safety Director for Bono, Bono East, and Ahafo Mr. Kwasi Boateng urged road drivers who ply the Kintampo highway to be extra vigilant and drive cautiously.
He added that the National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) will continue to sensitize road users to adhere to road safety regulations to “Arrive Alive.
Mr. Boateng finally advised the political party to desist from reckless driving, speeding, and overloading of packing party followers in vehicles.
