The Minister for Roads and Highways, Hon. Kwame Agbodza, held discussions with the African Development Bank (AfDB) regarding funding and the successful execution of road projects in the country.
The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration between Ghana and the AfDB. Key road projects discussed included the Eastern Corridor Development Programme Phases 1 and 2, the Dambai Bridge Project, the Abidjan-Lagos Corridor Road Project, the government’s Big Push Initiative, the reintroduction of road tolls, and enhancing road maintenance across the country.
Hon. Agbodza also appealed to the Bank for funding support for the reconstruction of the Techiman-Wa road.
Hon. Agbodza expressed appreciation for the Bank’s continued assistance to Ghana and reiterated the government’s commitment to finding sustainable ways to generate revenue for financing road infrastructure.
The delegation, led by Eyerusalem Fasika, Country Manager of AfDB, affirmed their commitment to supporting Ghana’s road infrastructure development, emphasizing the importance of well-maintained roads in boosting economic growth and regional trade.
