As part of its ongoing commitment to improving community health and well-being, the Royal Vine Foundation (RVF) LBG, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), organized a comprehensive free health screening exercise in Akropong, located in the Akuapem North Municipality of the Eastern Region.
The initiative formed part of the Foundation’s strategic efforts to evaluate and promote the overall health status of Ghanaians while fostering a culture of preventive healthcare. The exercise took place during the 2025 Akropong Odwira Festival, attracting participants from diverse backgrounds across the municipality and beyond.
Focus on Health, Empowerment, and Social Change
The Royal Vine Foundation has built a strong reputation for its focus on creating tangible social impact. Beyond healthcare, the organization continues to champion causes that address critical social challenges, including adolescent pregnancies, youth empowerment, education, and community transformation.

Speaking during the event, Madam Ofori Abigail, Founder of the Royal Vine Foundation, emphasized that the health screening was organized to help residents monitor and maintain their health.
“Good health is the foundation of a productive life. Early detection of diseases is key to preventing severe illnesses. When individuals get screened early, treatment becomes more effective, health outcomes improve, and mortality rates decline,” Madam Ofori stated.
She further noted that the Foundation’s outreach programs aim to enhance the quality of life of Ghanaians by promoting preventive healthcare and raising awareness about key public health issues.
Advocating for Adolescent Health and Responsible Living
Madam Ofori also used the platform to address the growing issue of teenage pregnancy and unsafe sexual practices among young people in the Akuapem North Municipality.
“We are determined to reduce the rate of teenage pregnancies through health education and community engagement. Parents must take an active role in guiding and monitoring their children, ensuring they receive proper care and moral support,” she urged.
She cautioned the youth against engaging in unprotected sexual activities, encouraging them instead to focus on their education and personal development. Emphasizing the role of parents and caregivers, she called for stronger family guidance and open discussions about sexual and reproductive health.
“Abstinence remains the safest choice. It is important for young people to make responsible decisions about their health and future,” Madam Ofori added.
Expert Insight on Sexual and Reproductive Health

In her remarks, Hannah Amponsah, a Public Health Nurse with the Akuapem North Municipal Health Directorate, reinforced the importance of sexual health education. She highlighted the dangers of unprotected sex, which can lead to sexually transmitted infections (STIs) such as HIV, chlamydia, gonorrhea, and other related conditions.
“Education and preventive measures are crucial in curbing the spread of infections. When people are informed, they are better equipped to make safe and healthy choices,” Ms. Amponsah said.
Theme and Community Impact
The 2025 outreach program was held under the theme:
“Healthy Choices, Safeguarding Tomorrow” — encouraging individuals and families to make proactive and informed decisions about their health.
The health screening offered a wide range of services including blood pressure checks, diabetes testing, malaria screening, and counseling sessions on nutrition and reproductive health. Participants expressed appreciation to the Royal Vine Foundation for bringing such an impactful initiative to their community.
Through such programs, the Royal Vine Foundation continues to reaffirm its commitment to building healthier, informed, and empowered communities, one outreach at a time.
