Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Minister for Information has opened a three day training and orientation programme for 250 Assistant Information Officers who have been recruited as Right to Information (RTI) Officers to various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
This brings to 350 the number of RTI officers posted to public institutions across the country.
These officers are to ensure that information requests are promptly responded to on time as expected.
The Right to Information Law is to make available public information accessible to persons or a group and journalists who want to acquire in depth knowledge on some state issues.
