The Legal, Research and Regulatory Department of the Right to Information Commission has been engaging in a meeting to discuss legal issues arising from the decisions of the Commission.
This exercise is geared at discussing potential legal issues that the Commission may face in the execution of its mandate of Promoting, Monitoring, Protecting and Enforcing the right to information that is granted to a person under paragraph (f) of clause (1) of article 21 of the Constitution and the provisions of Right to Information Act, 2019 (Act 989).
The Chairman of the governing board of the Commission, Justice K. A. Ofori-Atta (Rtd) is chairing the meeting with the Executive Secretary of the Commission, Yaw Sarpong Boateng Esq as co- chair. Also present are staff of the legal department.
