Russia’s Wagner Group says its fighters are no longer active in Ukraine, and its operations are currently confined to Africa and Belarus.
In a statement, the private military group also distanced itself from any official Russian entity.
Wagner’s statement comes after Ukraine reported that Wagner troops were being deployed near the Ukrainian border with Belarus.
Wagner’s role in Africa has been a concern, particularly its support of junta-led Sahel nations like Mali.
