Hajia Lariba Abudu, minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection headed Ghana delegation in participation in the ‘2023 Women Deliver (WD2023) Conference’ in Kigali-Rwanda from 17th to 20th July, 2023.
The event which commenced today is themed: “Spaces, Solidarity, and Solutions”.
Women Deliver is a leading global advocate that provides a platform to advance gender equality and the health and rights of girls and women, in all their intersecting identities.
The minister will be attending a Ministerial Forum as part of a side event leading to the official opening of the conference.
The forum which comprises Ministers of Gender, Finance, Health, Youth and Education across countries, will offer them the opportunity to discuss policies and strategies that have worked to advance key issues.
Discussion will also focus on accountability towards adopted commitments during global platforms in advancing gender equality across different sectors as a way of accelerating progress in reaching the long awaited gender equality and equity outcomes.
