The Vice President of the Republic, H.E Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia cut sod for the beginning of the construction of an inland port in Debre in the Savannah Region last Friday.
With almost half a million dollars in investment, the Debre port which will have a 1000-acre industrial park will become an important transit port between Southern Ghana and the Sahel.
The first of its kind in Northern Ghana, this port is part of the grand program of the Akufo-Addo government to bridge the age-old developmental gap between the south and north of our country, thereby unleashing our full economic potential.
The project adds to the numerous projects undertaken in the region since its creation to help improve the livelihood of people in the area.
