A group of Concerned Assembly Members and Dadease Traditional Council in the Bosome Freho District of the Ashanti Region is contesting a move by some members of the assembly to pass a vote of no confidence in their District Chief Executive, Yaw Danso.
The Assembly Members who have begun the vote of no confidence processes against the DCE have accused him of causing divisions within them, keeping motorbikes meant for them, and inciting community members against them.
22 assembly members in the Bosome Freho District want the DCE impeached.
They have accused the DCE of instigating divisions and hoarding resources meant for assembly members.
One of them, Maxwell Boakye DeGraft, said the DCE was also “instigating the community against the members.”
“He has kept our motorbikes. The motorbikes which are supposed to be given to the assembly members are at the office,” Mr. Boakye said.
Because of these alleged grievances, Mr. DeGraft said the assembly began processes leading to the vote of no confidence.
“We summoned him to the PRCC committee. That is where he was supposed to appear, and we put before him all these charges.”
After the DCE had answered the charges, “that is when we were going to move to pass the vote of no confidence,” the Assembly Member said.
They expect to decide on the report, provided there is no counter-motion following the appearance before the committee.
The Traditional Council of Dadease consists of 68 communities and also held a press conference after closed doors meeting to petition the president of the republic, Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo Addo, to remove his incompetent and disrespectful District chief Executive officer, Hon. Yaw Danso with immediate effect before they advise themselves.
The call by the Dadease Traditional Authority is at the behest of the respected Chief of the Dadease Traditional Area within Bosome Freho and parts of Bekwai in the Ashanti Region.
At a press conference on Sunday, the chiefs alleged gross insubordination against the DCE for Bosome Freho and declared that, Hon. Yaw Danso is unfit to be at post.
The 68 community sub-chiefs led by Nana Ama Serwaa Ampem II, sub-queen mother of Nsuem addressing the press tabled an infinite number of charges against the DCE, starting from dishonored an invitation to Nana Twum Barima Appau II, Dadease, using unprintable words to the chiefs of the Traditional Area, deplorable roads and schools, masterminding of illegal mining activities at the area etcetera.
They ended up pouring libation in calling the ancestors to deal with whoever will decide to take any amount of money from the DCE to intervene will faces the wrath of the ancestors.
