Begoro Youth Association and concerned Fanteakwa North Youth are calling on President Akufo-Addo not to reappoint the current DCE, Charles Oware Tweneboah for the second time.
In a press conference on 19th May 2021, the Association was of the view the DCE failed to perform to warrant his second term in office and however, dared the traditional council to come out openly on the achievements of Mr. OwareTweneboah since his assumption into office four years ago.
According to them, Charles Oware Tweneboah has been sleeping for the past four years and there is no hope that he can wake up from his slumber very soon to tackle the numerous problems affecting his people.
“We can boldly say without any reservations that, Begoro is in a mess and nothing seems to be working out to better the lives of the people.”
A statement read by Obiba J.K secretary to the group, said indiscriminate dumping of refuse due to lack of dustbins at vantage points in Begoro township and defecation into gutters as a result of toilet facilities which are white elephant are reasons for this mess that Begoro finds itself.
“We are always at mercy whenever it rains heavily in Begoro” Our main road leading to the hospital gets flooded with a huge chunk of plastics and polythene bags and the mind-boggling aspect of it is that we have lived with this over a decade without antidote”
He said Begoro as a District Capital for Fanteakwa North has no market center to meet the growing demands of market women.
He added that the main lorry station being used as a market center by the District demonstrates the level of incompetent leadership in Begoro.
“Our Chiefs know the bad leadership we are having in Begoro, yet some of them whom we believed could have stood by the people have nicodemously taken GHS 100.00 as a guarantee for signing a petition to the Jubilee House for reappointment of the disappointed DCE who even knows that he has failed the government and his people”
He said another major problem affecting the District is the recent increase in an armed robbery in and around Begoro (Lack of Security), Unemployment among youth, lack of potable water, poor road network, high rate of teenage pregnancy, and others.
The youth, therefore, believed the4 DCE has failed his people and the youth of Begoro are unable to contain him as the District Chief Executive going forward.
“We are pleading with the President of the Republic, the chief of staff, the vice president, the council of state, Eastern Region, Okyehene and the Regional minister to rescue Begoroman from continuously going down.”
